This is a recipe for a homemade turmeric face mask for dark marks/scars and acne prone skin.
I’m not going to lie. The very first time I made a turmeric mask, I #hatedit. Not because I didn’t see or like the results (in school I had learned about its amazing benefits) but because of how messy it is. It literally ruined by pure white manicured nails. So, before we get into the ingredients and benefits, please be aware that this stuff stains everything! Be sure to wear protective gloves (if you care about your nails), use an applicator brush of some sort, and wear a shirt that you do not care about potentially ruining.
The reason why I decided to give turmeric another shot is because I recently tried a new facial cleanser and my skin didn’t react so well to it. It added a rough texture to my skin that wasn’t there before and I had a few small breakouts that left light scars. Remembering the benefits of turmeric, I decided to give it another run and I struck GOLD!
Now let’s get into the ingredients and its benefits.

In case you’re wondering, I made and applied this mask at night. After cleansing my face, I rinsed off the mask with water and then lightly cleansed once more with my CeraVe Hydrating Face Wash just to make sure there was no mask left behind. I followed up with my toner, night serum, and moisturizer and it left my skin feeling smooth and supple.
Of course, you won’t achieve full results after one application so be sure to add it to your routine regularly. Try using it a few nights out of the week and don’t forget to take pictures. I have other masks that I make and several that I have purchased but I am going to start making this one more consistently now because I loved the results and I know how to avoid the mess.
