Perfecting and maintaining my skin care routine is something I worked really hard on this year. Prior to going to school to be an esthetician, my routine was built on trial and error. Now, I can honestly say that I’ve been intentional in finding products that work for my skin and I have a routine that I love!
The cleansing part of your skincare routine is one of the most important steps. It also happens to be one of my favorite steps. Before adding products such as masks and serums, you must start off with a clean slate. There are many different cleansers out there that come with a variety of benefits to suite your skin type.Â
Â
I have normal skin and sometimes I get oily in my t-zone area especially in the summer months. While my skin isn’t very sensitive, it doesn’t respond well to products that are too stripping and drying so I’ve learned to stay away from some “purifying” cleaners. They work great for some people but it’s going to be a no for me.
Â
I tend to gravitate to more hydrating, conditioning, and balancing cleaners. This allows me to still have a very clean and hydrated base before adding the really good stuff (ie. masks, exfoliants, toners, serums, and moisturizers). These products include the active ingredients that I need for my skin. Honestly, my skin has never been better!

Â
So without further ado, here are my current favorite cleansers (in no particular order):
CeraVe Hydrating Face Wash
I like to double cleanse, so I typically use this in the morning as my second cleanser. If you have dry skin or if your looking for something to really hydrate that won’t break the bank, this is it! It doesn’t produce any suds, but it will cleanse and hydrate the skin for sure!
CeraVe Renewing SA Cleanser
Â
I use this cleanser at night. It gently exfoliates and detoxifies the skin while leaving it soft and smooth. This cleanser is a chemical exfoliant so it doesn’t have any harsh or grainy beads making it gentle on the skin.  It is also loaded with salicylic acid which is an amazing ingredient in skin care.
GlamGlow GentleBubble Daily Conditioning Cleanser
I received this a while ago in a BoxyCharm and it sat for a while. Early this year I started using it and regretted that I didn’t use it sooner. This was one of the first cleaners I used after using one from my dermatologist. I appreciated that fact that it didn’t have any harsh chemicals and my skin loved it too! It is made with green tea leaf to even the skin tone, and apple extract and vitamin E to deeply cleanse.
Fresh Soy Face Cleanser
This is a recent favorite of mine. I had heard great things about it and I loved how it’s made with natural ingredients. The soy, cucumber, and rose water helps to calm, balance, nourish and soften the skin. My skin loves this cleanser and it leaves my skin feeling really soft, supple and smooth. It also leaves my skin glowing before adding my other products.
Soap and Glory Peaches and Cream Deep Cleansing Milk
Â
Â
I’ve had this product for a LONG time. I use it mainly to pre-cleanse my face when I am wearing make up. It does a great job of removing all of my makeup without leaving it dry and stiff. It is rich in Vitamins A and C and it is very effective in removing toxins from the skin, fighting signs of aging, and re-energizing the skin.
Â
Shiseido Perfecting Cleansing Oil
Â
This is another product that I use to pre-cleanse my face when I’m wearing make up because it is amazingly effective. I like this one because it is gentle enough around the eye area when I’m taking off my mascara. I also like that it doesn’t leave the skin feeling greasy.
Â
There you have it…my current favorite face cleansers. If you’re here because you’re looking for a new one, I hope you find something you like! Feel free to drop your favorite cleanser(s) in the comment section below!
