Spring has SPRUNG and curly hair is becoming more and popular. Maintenance for curly hair is unique especially when you want to achieve the “wet look” that will last all day! I’m here to show you how (Youtube video linked below.)
Before we get into it, be sure to follow my hair and wig page on IG: AlishaJ.Collection
First let’s get into the products you will need to achieve this look with your Alisha J. Collection® curly hair textures. These products are the only ones that I use, therefore they are tried and true. At the end, there will be a detailed video showing you HOW I achieve this look.
I prefer the fine bottle over the regular spray bottle because it provides a continuous mist so it’s easier on the hand. It also saturates the hair with water evenly.
After saturating the hair with water, I distribute this leave in conditioner all throughout the hair. You don’t need a lot of this product but you want to make sure that it’s worked into all sections of the hair.
Using your favorite wig or detangler brush, brush through the hair. This will prevent the hair from tangling and it will help the product guide through the hair evenly. (Be sure to detangle your hair extensions before you get started as well.)
This product is major key for ensuring this style lasts. In the video below, I use the green one but it’s sold out now so I linked another one. Any Eco Style gel will work. This product is going to seal in the conditioner and lock the curls into place. Once again make sure you are distributing the gel all throughout the hair or you will have some areas that will get frizzy once the hair dries.
IMPORTANT STEP: Scrunch the hair to form the curls and let it DRY. DO NOT TOUCH THE CURLS WHILE THEY ARE DRYING. If you are wearing a wig, I suggest doing this process at night and removing the wig to let it sit and air dry.
I SWEAR BY THIS STUFF! I love how this oil is heavy enough to moisturize the hair, yet lightweight enough to not weigh it down. I like to take a quarter sized amount and ONCE THE HAIR IS COMPLETELY DRY, I gently apply this to the hair while separating the curls. I don’t apply this oil everyday, just went my hair needs a little extra moisture.
